2024 Caribbean Events
J/World is once again running select programs in the Caribbean during the 2024 racing season. Interested sailors should contact us for details and current availability.
Please note that these are fully coached J/World programs with a heavy emphasis on having all participants highly engaged in the sailing of the boats. Our goals are to have a beneficial educational experience, and of course a fun time. These are NOT the common cattle-boat experiences that sailors often encounter where the boats are loaded with pay-to-play crews who largely get parked in front of a grinding pedestal. Most of our programs run with a 2:1 sailor to coach ratio, so everyone gets to fully participate and receive lots of personal attention from our team! See here for more info on the unmatched racing programs that are offered by the team that has been coaching racers for over 40 years!
St. Maarten Heineken Regatta – Feb 27 – March 3
J/World is excited to announce our participation in the St. Martin Heineken Regatta, a fun filled event that has achieved legendary status for the great sailing conditions, over the top social events (parties, concerts, you name it), and incredible fleet. Check it out here.
We’ll be racing aboard a beautiful and fast 50 footer. The boat has an extensive brand new inventory and is superbly outfitted. Three coaches will be aboard, but you get to do the sailing. Everyone participates in the key positions, we don’t just make you grind for the whole event like so many other programs!
We won our class in the event in 2015. Let’s get a great team together and do it again!
Les Voiles de St Barth – April 13-20
The beautiful island of St Barth welcomes a competitive fleet of racers from around the world to enjoy the warm waters, great sailing, fine dining, and shoreside parties. Come join us for five days of racing with J/World aboard a fast 50 footer with a full new racing inventory! We’ll begin with two days of practice and prep under the guidance of three J/World coaches. Team members will rotate through all the positions aboard, and with the low instructor to sailor ratio, everyone gets a lot of personal attention.
Antigua Sailing Week – April 27 – May 3
ASW is probably the pinnacle of the Caribbean racing circuit each season. What could possibly top five days of sailing in the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean against a fleet of yachts from all over the world?
“For five days crews are challenged with a variety of coastal race courses encouraging tacking duels around the buoys – all in the picture-perfect setting of the deep blue Caribbean Sea off Antigua’s south coast with the ever-present trade winds. The idyllic racing is enhanced by sailors retiring to Antigua Yacht Club for passionate post-race analysis and daily prize-givings which carry on into the evening. Hundreds of locals and visitors will continue partying well into the late hours but yacht crews know there is another day of racing so they leave the late night revelry for the others to finish.”
Join the J/World Team aboard a beautifully prepared 50 footer for the experience of a lifetime!
